PROJECT PROFILE
(a) About the Area:
This area is well known as Konaseema (full of coconuts situated so close to the Seabelt of the Bay of Bengal. G.Pedapudi is located at distance of 45 kms from Rajahmundry and 60 kms from Kakinada cities. This Konaseema consists 16 Revenue Mandals and G.Pedapudi is sdfrom P.Gannavaram Mandal. It has 24 villages. All these villages are Located at and average distance of about 25 kms.
All our target villages are located in low lying areas and on the banks of River Godavari Agriculture is the main occupation of the people of the area. The area is very well Knitted with the canals of River Godavari. The staple food of the people is rice. Though the area is fertile, good number of acres of land is concentrated in the hands of the few land lords while majority of the population work as agricultural laborers. The average daily income ranges from Rs.15 to 20 and this varies from season to season.
Because of the Geographical Proximity and the villages being located in the low lying areas, the villages are ofted affected by the floods.
Educationally the villages are very backward. The main reason being the ignorance of the parents and poverty. The parents prefer their children to be agricultural workers rather than to be educated in the schools. Even if the children go to school, they drop out of school because of the school because of the lack of school going tendency among the children on one hand and the children failing to compete with the children of the main stream. There is no motivation and and orientation for the children at the age of 2 to years. The other reason for this backwardness in education is lack of commitment on the part of the teachers. This is mainly because of the teachers coming from distant places and not residing in the village where they are supposed to teach.
Since this area is delta one and closely knitted with the canals, people drink water from the canals and they are often affected by the water bound diseases. The health services are available only at the Mandal head quarters which are naturally located at the distance from the villages. The visiting nurses periodically pay the visits to the villages.
(b)ABOUT THE PROJECT APPLICANT:
I am J.Prasada Rao, Evangelist Minister and president of the PEARL ORPHANS SOCIETY, Regd.No.1079/92 from East Godavari District AndhraPradesh. I am Pastoring since 1983 and also assisted by 15 dedicated men of god trying each (Konaseema) and preach the Gospel of Christ. For this we are regularly worshipping on Sundays, conducting public, street gospel meetings, night gospel meetings. Distributing tracts, Booklets. Also Bread to the sick, used clothes to naked and aged. Bible classes to the educated youth is in vogue. Thus we are trying over best spend every minute our strength and knowledge to win souls as our Lord lead and provide us.
II.THE PROJECT AND ITS NEED:
Because of my close association with the people in the area, the situation has facilitated me to analyse the needs of the people. The major problem in this region seems to be illiteracy. The literacy percentage is only 25 which is far below the percentage of the district. This percentage is exclusively among the adults while there are many school drop outs among the youth in the villages. The primary drawback for this Backwardness in the field of education is lack of orientation and motivation among the Adults which has an adverse effect on the education of the children too. Though the Children go to the school at the age of sixty years, 45 percent of them drop out from the School before they complete the fifth or sixty standard. The rest of the children make it very difficult to reach the final of the secondary education. The first and the second stage is existing in the villages because of the reason that the child do not get proper formation during the age of 2 to 5 years which is the precious time to get formatted and oriented. Naturally because of this situation the children do not get the school going. Tendency. Even if some children make it up to the 8th standard, they fail at that stage because they are unable to compete with the children of the main stream of the society. The children from the elite sections get the poor people are not in a position to pay the Highest fees. The children i.e., 25% who reach the final of the secondary education are mostly from the middle class families.
ORPHANS CARE:
There are number of destitute children wandering in the village streets. Some are working as child labourers in dangerous places like stone crushing. Brick making and some in the coffee hotels for a very low wages at times only for their daily bread. They work for 10-14 hours per day. Our heart burst with all these unfortunate children. We pray for these orphans to do some thing to uplift their lives to gather them, feed them, to do some thing to uplift their lives to gather them, feed them, educated them and make them the disciples of our Lord by Teaching and trained them in the wisdom of God.
Taking these realities into consideration, I have started a pearl orphan society Mercy Home) for the rural children with a view to help them in their education and give good formation. At present there are 18 students in our pearl orphans society (Mercy Home) and this number may increase in the years to me. Myself and the children are currently staying a small rented house.
The maintenance of these children is a big burden on me. I have been maintaining them with my contributions and the tiny free will offerings. We do not have permanent source of income to run this ORPHAN HOME. Therefore, we approach you for the benign and cause. On an average the monthly maintenance will come to the tune of Rs.10,000/- is totally requested.
This being the situation, we appeal to you to get us in touch with some of the benefactors who could help our children and their maintenance permanently. We have had a detailed verse with the BIBLE "This is the kind of religion (worship) that God accepts, Caring for ORPHAN or WIDOWS who need help and keeping yourself free from The World's evil influence. This is the kind of religion (worship) that God accepts as pure and good".
James 1:27
Based on His living words and guidance we are presenting this request to your Good offices for your kind consideration.
If you wish we are glad to send you, the bio-data of each child with the photograph for your kind reference Sincerely, Your loving brother, (J.PRASADA RAO)

II. PROJECT DESCRIPTION : (THE NEED FOR PERMANENT SHELTER)
The proposed project – construction of multipurpose hall cum boarding home/church calls for financial assistance to put up a common hall in the head quarters so that it could be utilized as a community hall for holding various meetings of the village elders, and also as a boarding Home/church for the rural school going children.
At present there is no proper shelter for the children staying in the boarding home. They stay with the Eva & pastor and share the accommodation in the existing thatched shed. During the rainy season it is rather difficult in assuring the congenial atmosphere to the children and to the priest too, as the area becomes more slushy and prone to all sorts of diseases. It is in a way Inconvenient for the Eva & pastor too. The children also find it very difficult to create an atmosphere to study and to sleep. Moreover, it is very unhygienic to take food in a slushy Place especially during the rainy season. We have been living and continuing in this situation for the last two years. The recurring expenditures on repairing this thatched shed are also Rather on high side. As a new establishment, the inflow of income is also not adequate enough nor the church has any assured income resources from where the maintenance cost could be derived.
This being the reality, the Pearl Orphan Society has expressed its desire whether it would be possible for the Eva & Pastor to raise adequate funds to construct a modest multipurpose hall-cum-boarding home/church. The proposed hall will have a ground and the first floors. In the ground and first floors, there will be two common halls of which the ground floor hall will be utilized as the dining hall for the children, and the same could also be used as a multipurpose hall occasionally to conduct various Village level leaders trainings, women leaders trainings, children camps, health clinics etc., While the hall in the ground floor will exclusively be used to accommodate the children where they can read and sleep. There will also be provision for a kitchen and store room attached to the ground floor hall, and a warden's residence and office attached to the study and dormitory room in the first floor hall. The total plinth area for this building is estimated at 114-97 sq.mts. for the ground floor and the same for the first floor.
III. THE BUDGET:
The following is the budget required for the construction of the multipurpose hall cum boarding home at G.PEDAPUDI.
Total cost estimation of the said building. Rs.6,00,000-00 (1997)
IV. FEASIBILITY OF THE PROJECT:
The proposed multipurpose hall cum boarding home/church will help the entire area. This could be utilized as a community hall to conduct various training programmes, orientation and motivational classes, seminars on various development issues and concepts. The village leaders and the Pearl Orphan Society Council members will get more knowledge through these trainings and develop their leadership qualities. These programmes in turn would develop the socio-economic and political situation of the people as well as the faith in the Christianity. This project is also going to promote educational standards of the rural children in the jurisdiction of D.Gannavaram Mandal. This hall will also be utilized as the boarding home for the rural poor children. Currently there are 26 children studying from 1st standard to 8th standard, coming from different villages. They are all the children of the agricultural labourers. Therefore, parents do not take care of the Education of their children. They keep them idle at home just to look after the younger siblings or to graze the cattle of the local rich. Though the children have the aptitude towards the Education, because of the financial constraints and lack of motivation among the parents. The education among the children is not properly promoted. Even if they join the school, may be after completing 4th or 5th standard, they drop out from the school and go for the Agricultural works.
It is in this situation, we have thought of promoting the education among the poor children By way of keeping them in a boarding home/church providing them good education in the Local schools. The coaching is also given in the boarding home. The proposed construction of the multipurpose hall will be utilized as the boarding home to accommodate these children. Therefore, the proposed project will be a tool in promoting the education among the rural Children.
V. Conclusion:
The said building has been under construction standing on pillers. We are herewith enclosing the plan and cost estimate of the proposed building for your reference.
With great hope and confidence I submit this proposal for your kind consideration. We do hope that this would fall under the priority of your programmes. PEARL PUBLIC SCHOOL
GANTI PEDAPUDI – 533 274.
EAST GODAVARI DISTRICT, ANDHRA PRADESH, INDIA
Date:_________
Pearl Public School for a policy frame work and raising enrolment enrolment rate in our school reflected the high demand for education among the poor families. However schooling must be free of cost for all children as studies showed that high costs of education constitute an important reason for parents pulling out their children from school. Therefore they ought to be no financial burden whatsoever on families especially poor families for whom sending children to school is a struggle entalling a heavy opportunity cost.
Also a commitment must be made to provide quality education without discrimination between children in urban and rural areas. It is only when every child receives quality education as it guaranteed in the Indian constitution will the country be able to realise the enormous potential that exists for India to become a vibrant democracy, a thriving economy and a global leader.
The PPS against a backdrop of both hope and uncertainities. According to the report 121 million children worldwide were out of school, strong evidence from across the world suggests that investing in child's education is the most critical intervention for accelerating human development and for securing the future of children.

THE GROWTH OF TEACHERS
Since the days when we decided being a school leader meant being an instructional leader. We have added to this role the expectations of school based management choice, vision and community involvement in schools. We have also seen a flurry of new instructions approaches inter-disciplinary teaming and teaching co-operative learning and literature and primary source instructions writing accross the curriculum.
The instructional leader model concentrated on the growth of students and rarely looked to the growth of teachers. Learning theory tells us that we growthup, theory advance community growth by promoting and creating new meanings.
